Q. What are the eligibility criteria to join up?
A. The only criterion is that you are a qualified and practising attorney in South Africa.
Q. How much does it cost to appear on this website?
R 130.00 (Incl. VAT) per month by debit order or R 1 248.00 (Incl. VAT) by credit card for twelve months. The credit card option renders a 20% discount on the monthly option.
Q. How long is the listing contract?
A. You can unsubscribe at any time by sending us written cancellation (email fine).
Q. When will the first payment be deducted?
BY MONTHLY DEBIT ORDER: A pro-rata amount will be processed immediately (calculated on the number of days remaining in the month). Thereafter debit orders will be processed on the business first day of each month.
BY CREDIT CARD: Immediately upon your online payment submission
Q.Our firm has already invested in a website and we have been disappointed with the response. Why should FindanAttorney be different?
A. Most people (including many website designers that develop individual websites for clients) grossly underestimate the time, expertise and resources required to successfully market a website. It is a full-time, ongoing job. They also do not realise that Website construction and Website marketing are two completely different fields that website developers usually do not have the capacity to execute. Nevertheless, if you do have a website our internal statistics have shown that click-throughs from your listing on our site to your website are substantial (justifying your investment in your own website).
Q. Won't certain attorneys always appear at the top of the list on the initial search results page?
A. No, we have an algorithm in place which orders the list in a totally random fashion so that every attorney has the chance to be at the top of the list.
Q.How do I make changes to my profile once listed?
A. You log directly into your profile using the "Login" link at the top of the left menu bar using the Username and Password you selected at the time that you applied to join. If you experience any problems, please email us.
Q. As more and more attorneys are listed - won't my listing get lost amidst the crowds?
A. We aim to limit the number of attorneys that appear on the initial search results page. This will be monitored on an ongoing basis and achieved through the application of a series of progressive filters. We have specifically not broken the dial code area in the main search into suburbs, as we do not believe that choosing the attorney down the road is necessarily the best way to find the most suitable attorney. Bear in mind too, that in a traditional directory where all that is supplied is a name and number, a large selection of attorneys is much more of a problem. Our attorneys can be easily differentiated according to their offerings by the astute web visitor.
Q. Our firm employs several attorneys - how do we list?
A. We have tried to give this website a very personalised flavour. People want to deal with people, not corporations. Every attorney is therefore listed individually. However once an attorney is listed in their individual capacity, they can activate a separate Firm Profile Page.
Q. Do I have to have a photograph?
A. Photographs are optional, but we believe that it is in your best interests to have one. If you wish we can load your company logo instead of a personal photo.
